Neuf signaux provenant de l'étoile de Barnard à propos de l'origine du fer...
"Canadian band En Fer are out with the EP "Bakal Na Pinagmulan", and experimental rock is probably the best designation to give to this one track EP. This is very much a primitive creation, recorded live or live in the studio, with a very distinct lo-fi quality to the recordings that emphasize the chaotic aspects of the landscapes explored here. While differentiating the details here is a bit difficult, I'd say that the more experimental aspects of krautrock is a part of the experience here, alongside a liberal amount of noise rock. There is a bit of a punk spirit to the landscapes crafted here too, in form as well as sound aesthetics, and there are quite a few passages I would describe as being if not inspired b y then at least moving in similar patterns as what you might find in free form jazz. This creation does sound improvised to boot, and it is quite the chaotic experience where cacophony and atonal elements are clearly dominating features. If a punk and noise oriented variety of free form jazz having a meeting with krautrock in a distinctly lo-fi setting, this EP is one variety of what such a meeting would accomplish. And those who find that description alluring will probably find this EP to be quite the rewarding experience too I'd imagine."
